Over the years I’ve heard countless consumers bragging up the restaurants and bakeries they felt were the best in the Twin Cities. On the rare occasion these people have asked my opinion, I’ve usually responded with something like this: “I don’t think there is a specific concept that is the best; I believe most places simply have signature items that they do better than their competitors.”
At Saint Agnes Baking Company our product line has a unique perspective because many of our standards were designed and influenced by Eastern European technologies and recipes. If your wish list includes sourdoughs, ryes or the perfect hamburger bun, that’s where our crew puts its best foot forward. For over a quarter of a century, me and my flour covered friends have had the honor of baking these destination recipes for your families.
But if I need a French-style baguette for dinner, chances are you’ll find me down at Faces Mears Park asking David Fhima for whatever he has most recently pulled out of his oven. And on the day my daughter got married, I brought her 25 cheesecakes that I outsourced from my friend Tami Cabrera at Muddy Paws Cheesecakes.
If you live in the Twin Cities and enjoy quality baked goods, you really are blessed. Our options are countless. Over my next couple of posts, I will describe why some of our particular products go unrivaled.
With that said, I want to say thanks to all of you that put up with me in 2013, and I hope you consider letting me hang out with you a bit more in 2014.
Happy New Year.
